Getting started

Is coaching the same as therapy?

No. Forward-focused, not clinical.

Coaching is not therapy, and it is not a substitute for therapy, medical, or psychiatric care. It does not diagnose or treat any condition. Coaching is forward-focused: we work on the life you want to build. Therapy processes past trauma and treats mental health conditions. Many people benefit from both, and I can refer you to therapists if needed.

Do I need a formal diagnosis to work with you?

No. Self-identification is welcome.

Self-identification is valid. You don't need a formal diagnosis to benefit from neurodivergent-affirming coaching. If you're exploring whether you're ND, I can also help you find qualified assessors.

What does a session actually look like?

Questions, then one concrete thing to try.

We start with whatever's alive for you that week. I ask questions more than I give advice. We leave every session with something concrete (a tool, a tweak, an experiment) that you actually take into your week.

What's your approach?

Strengths-based. Environment-first.

Strengths-based and environment-first. Instead of trying to fix your brain, we redesign your environment (sensory, social, structural) so your brain can do what it does well. Grounded in the ICF Core Competencies and neurodivergent-specific research.

Coaching vs. mentoring vs. consulting: what are you?

I'm a coach. You're the expert on you.

I'm a coach. I don't tell you what to do (that's consulting) or share my exact career path (mentoring). I ask the questions that help you find your own answers, because you're the expert on your brain, not me.
